International Forum Day 1<\/h2>\n

What kind of event is this forum?<\/dt>\n

The forum is an event for members of the local community, people interested in the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS, and officials from organizations and companies carrying out the decommissioning to come together under one roof and discuss the decommissioning process and the future of the local community.<\/p>\n

Since it is an international forum, we expect people from other countries to attend who are interested in the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS. By having participants from a wide range of backgrounds talk together about their thoughts and ideas, we hope to promote better understanding of the current state of the decommissioning process and of the local community. All our plans for the forum are directed at achieving this type of event.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

What specifically will we do at this event?<\/dt>\n

There will be 2 sessions: \u201cLearn about Fukushima Daiichi D&D\u201d and \u201cPresentations and Panel Discussion\u201d.<\/p>\n

Learn about Fukushima Daiichi D&D session.<\/p>\n

You will inform participants of the recap on what has happened since the accident, virtual tour of 1F as present, as well as the efforts of local business involvement to the 1F D&D work.<\/p>\n

Presentations and Panel Discussion session<\/p>\n

Presentation from pre-workshop (Visiting Workshops, Student Session and Virtual Joshikai in Fukushima) and panel discussion between high school students, local residents and international Japanese.
\nAnd panel discussion between decommissioning officials and panelists from the local community including high school students. A facilitator is planned to guide the proceedings. The progress of the panel discussion will be recorded with illustrations. <\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

I would like to drive to the venue. Will there be a parking lot?<\/dt>\n

There is a free parking lot adjacent to F-BICC. Follow directions from the on-site staff to a parking space.Parking spaces are limited, so please carpool as much as possible.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

Will there be transportation to the venue?<\/dt>\n

Shuttle buses will be operated. The timetable will be announced on this forum web site.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

Where can we eat lunch?<\/dt>\n

There will be no lunch arrangement for this forum. Please attend the forum after lunch.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

What kind of event is this forum?<\/dt>\n

The forum is an event intended for technical experts interested in technological aspects of the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS. The aim is to develop further understanding of the latest accurate information on the decommissioning process through presentations of case studies from Japan and abroad. Although this event involves more technical language than the previous day\u2019s event, the event is open to non-technical people as well.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

What will actually happen at the event?<\/dt>\n

The event is divided into two main parts: Presentations and Panel Discussion.<\/p>\n

Presentations<\/dt>\n

We will invite speakers to talk about the most recent information on case studies applicable to facilitating the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS. We will post the topics to be presented on our website presently.<\/dd>\n

Panel Discussion<\/dt>\n

<\/p>\n

The panel discussion will feature professionals on shutting down nuclear power stations from around the world under one roof to examine ways of proceeding with the Daiichi decommissioning.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
